Volunteering is personal. Working as a volunteer in Mississippi and New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, it opened my eyes to how people help people with no strings attached. Giving of oneself without expecting anything in return is the most human thing you can do. Volunteering is a gift to others, to your community, your country. Seek out an opportunity to work on your human side of life by volunteering during Volunteer Week, April 10 – 16, 2106.
